An Experimental Existential Romantic Theatre

I wanted to write a book without images.

Ultimately the book is a romantic novel but nothing can really happen because the protagonist is: in an intentionally cliched fashion, and to an extreme extent, plagued by an inner demon. This demon has many levels of irony to it, it can represent all sorts of things, even the literal manifestation of a biblical demon leading one to sin or even a schizophrenic delusion. It can be both secular or religious, literary or historical, psychological or conditional, philosophical but never empirical. The book is a one man play to a comic extent.

He finds someone he loves but has reservations due to this demon, and it becomes a socratic dialogue between him and his demon with a lover cutting in as a break in "reality". It comes off as preachy and philosophical about various topics but that's part of the demon that is plaguing him, preventing him from loving meaningfully.
